Day 4

Kwame again, keeping everyone in cyber world up to date on this ground-breaking experience. Day 4, as promised, was discharge day. I received 20cc of campath. Premeditated with Benadryl and Tylenol of course. I got back home around 2:30. The best news out of this day was that I had no reaction. No head aches, fevers, stomach pains...

There are different types of bone marrow transplants. I'm doing the reduced intensity conditioning (RIC) for non-malignant disorders. This procedure has less hospital time than others. I have completed phase 1, phase 2 will start July 15 when I go in to get a port in my chest. This will provide access for different medications without going through the veins.

Phase 1 didn't scare me as much as people anticipated. The only thing that caught my attention and made think for a while was my palms. They have gotten very pale over these four days. Everything else is going fine. The way I picture it, if you stay positive nothing can get you down.

Over the next few days I'll be explaining myself to the readers who don't actually know me too well. Explaining my hopes and dreams for the future and me as a person. Keep posted!!!.
