I just wanted to update. It's been a long time since my last post, but I promised to post only with important milestones. I'm two years out and the transplant info is pretty uneventful. I decided to check in and remind my readers that comments are welcome. Any questions you may have, please ask.
to give an update on myself, I have begun my senior year now. And I am preparing for college, of course. I am searching for scholarships, as some of you may remember doing. If anyone has some scholarship information they would like to share please contact me. It would be greatly appreciated.

So busy
Wow. I didn't realize I haven't posted anything since December.
Since then I have gotten a job at Millennium Skate World, went on a few college tours, taken the HSPA, got my learners permit, spoke on a few panels, did a TV interview... Its been so much.
These past three months has been the most hectic time of my life. Yet I am enjoying it. I living a normal life now, got to keep up!
I will commit to posting more often, even though the transplant new is uneventful. I am still 100% cured of Sickle Cell Disease!!!

Thanks sis
It is the time again where all of life's blessing are reflected. This is the time when teachers and TV commercials ask, what are you thankful for? I have many things to be thankful for but the most outstanding is my little sister. Imani, through fear, made the decision to save a life. In my eyes, she is the most generous, charitable person I know. Though we fuss from time to time, I am eternally thankful. words cant describe what she means to me.

Major Speech
I was invited to the National Sickle Cell Convention last week to speak on a the bone marrow transplant panel. I was honored and happily flew to Orlando, FL. I followed Dr. Bunin(my doctor)and 2 other transplant specialist. Their presentations informed the attendants of the process of transplant, and the reasons it has been successful. Mines was made to describe the transplant from the patients prospective. My mother gave me an introduction. Then my nerves realized I was going to be speaking to people I had never met. On the flight I wrote out some main ideas for the speech, but wanted it to feel more genuine and from the heart.
In the speech I talked about the affects of a transplant physically and mentally. I focused on the results more than each individual step because the final outcome outweighs the struggles significantly. The presentation was very well received. Many of the attendees who were also patients gave testimonies of their own. The entire night was inspiring. I cant wait to do it again.
Since my last update nothing much has changed. I am still feeling great. I received a few of the vaccines I need to have administered. There are alot of shots needed so my pediatrician generously spread them out over the course of the year. I get a few more in November.
