Close Call

Since I've have been home there has been three times where I could have gotten sick again. The first one was when my older brother caught a fever. I immediately put a mask on to protect myself from the germs but I also stayed as far away from him as possible. Number two was a risk of infection. Last night I was walking from the kitchen to the living room and got a splinter. It was caught in my pants leg, then jutted through my sock, and into my foot. It took almost an hour to remove it.My doctors advise me to keep checking the mark for any discoloration or bleeding. The third is happening now. My Father is now sick. He is throwing up and is complaining of heartburn and indigestion. I'll keep myself as far away from him also.

Channel 10 came today to do a story on me and my little sister. The bad thing about it is that I also got the IVIG today. Since I get pre-medicated for that I was still a bit drowsy for the interview. So they didn't really get to see the full Kwame personality. Sorry. :<

Hey Kwame!!
Your dad just emailed me your blog page. As you know, I live in Iowa now so this blog is a good way for me to keep up with your progress. I'm glad to read that you are doing well. Tell your dad to stay away from you...as a matter of fact, send him to the basement (his hideaway.)

Kwame, I miss you DEARLY. I miss watching you perform for me. Remember "funny hat"? And remember when you knew all of the words to Usher's CD within weeks after the CD came out? I'm still amazed by that...every time I listen to his CD, I think about you.

Stay STRONG through this process. The next thing you know, you'll be looking back on this moment as a memory.

Good job with the blog too! I'll be checking back every day to read about your progress.

Much Love,
Candice

Hi Kwame:

You probably don't remember me, but my name is Joy and I'm a friend of Ms. Candice. She emailed me about your blog and I just want thank you for sharing your story and inspiring all who read it. You have not only educated me on the process and your progress, you have also demonstrated your perserverance and wonderful affection for your family. This has been a tremendous journey for you and you have been a real trooper! Your enthusiasm is so contagious! I had to send your link to my daughter, Ebony, who you've also met. She said your blog is amazing! Keep up the good work.

Always,

Joy
